Winston Moore is social and political risk analyst, corporate communications and community relations consultant with over 20 years’ experience working for international oil and gas (BG Group, Shell), LNG and mining companies in critical scenarios to undertake political, socio-cultural and environmental impact assessments to mitigate risks, resettlement planning, restore livelihoods, safeguard business continuity and manage reputations. After obtaining a doctorate in government, he entered journalism, wrote for newsletters (Business Monitor International, Latin American Newsletters, Oil & Gas Journal) advised think-tanks (IHS, Economist Intelligence Unit, Control Risks, OMFIF) and multilateral organisations (IMF, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank), and served as a foreign correspondent in South America (Time Magazine, BusinessWeek, New York Times). More recently he advised the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and is a member of the LocalColour Collective.
