Over the years, Jon Harvey, associates and colleagues have worked on a wide diversity of assignments. Below are some descriptions of just a few examples of these.  On the Links page are some web links to past pieces of work in which Jon has played a key role:

‘Time travel’: Running a series of ‘future focus groups’ to examine local and national projected trends. Using the results to create artefacts (such as newspapers, retirement speeches, maps or school projects) from ten years hence – to stimulate and guide strategic thinking.

Open Space: Over a small number of days bringing together nearly 1000 women from one organisation to address how the organisation’s future should change so as to optimise the use of all the talents, regardless of gender.

Refreshing practice:  Facilitating a ‘seven shaped’ meeting (all the top team and a diagonal slice of staff from other levels) of managers, practitioners and clients to redesign a critical business process that would have far reaching impact on the customers of that service

Organisational ‘archaeology’: Unearthing the rituals and objects of an organisation’s culture and developing a strategy for tackling the thinking loops and behavioural practices that were getting in the way of progress towards even better results

Future search: Engaging the users, policy makers, community activists and service providers in a joint exploration of what the future needs to be and deciding on what action is required from all to make that future a reality.
